The Great Grey Shrike (we can only assume that there is only one this Winter!) was sighted recently in the Isle of Thorns area. This has previously been a good area for Shrikes but this Winter the bird has spent most of it’s time in the Poundgate, Box, Garden of Eden and Wrens Valley areas.
Whilst driving along Priory Road this morning heading towards Goat crossroads I heard a Firecrest singing by the entrance to the house called “Fern Hill”. This must be a migrant bird as the area is not terribly suitable.
